Community-Centric Policing
I believe that the heart of effective law enforcement lies in understanding and working closely with the community. My approach emphasizes:
- Understanding the needs of our community through collaborative partnerships between the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and residents. Being proactive with the community creates safer communities and reduces the need for reactive law enforcement measures.
- Transparency. Our community will be a full partner. We will readily share relevant information on crime, social disorder issues, and Liberty County Sheriff’s Office operations.
- Full support of mental health awareness and provide training for our staff and citizens.
Fiscal Accountability and Prudence
Financial responsibility is a cornerstone of my campaign. I am committed to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are used wisely and transparently. My financial principles include:
- Manage spending.
- Transparency with spending.
- Spend on needs, not on “wants”.
Strengthening Internal and External Collaborations
Organizational responsibility extends both within the Sheriff's Office and to the broader community.
- Internal – Alignment of management, staff, and deputies to support community partnerships and proactive problem solving. Encourage a culture of “Spirit of service” instead of only a “spirit of adventure”.
- External – We will partner with other Liberty County Departments, Constitutional Officers, and other governmental agencies to identify community concerns and offer solutions. We will encourage and welcome all citizens, community groups, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses to provide advice and assistance with early intervention youth programs and other crime prevention practices.
